Application: This data sheet details the requirements for a cellular-polyethylene insulated jelly filled twin cable with copper conductors made up into units, for use in the local distribution network.

Cable Design: 0.5mm plain copper conductors are insulated with cellular-PE material (BS EN 50290-2-23 Grade B and CW 1000). Two appropriately insulated and coloured conductors will be twisted together to form a pair.
The pairs are stranded in sub-units (10 Pairs), 5 sub-units are stranded together to form the core and each sub-unit will have the coloured binding tape.
The interstices of the cable core will be completely filled with a compound to comply with BS EN 50290-2-28
The jelly filled core is will be wrapped with a protective layer (e.g. helical or longitudinal lapping of one or more paper tape. The total thickness will have nominal value of not less than 175 µm
The cable will be sheathed with black polyethylene and will be registered in accordance with BS EN 50290-2-24 and CW 1000.

Insulation Resistance
The insulation resistance of the conductors will be not less than 5000 M Ω for 1000m. Test voltage 500 V DC.
